Peter Reid appointed as Mumbai City FC manager

Former England Under-21s manager Peter Reid takes over the vacant position in charge of Indian Super League club Mumbai City FC.

Peter Reid has been named as the new manager of Indian Super League side Mumbai City FC.

The 58-year-old, who has previously been at the helm of England Under-21s, Manchester City, Sunderland, Coventry City, Thailand and Plymouth Argyle, will be assisted in his new role by Steve Darby.

After being appointed as manager, Reid told reporters: "It's a great opportunity to coach in the Indian Super League. I enjoyed working overseas with Thailand and I am very much looking forward to this new challenge."

Former Germany international Manuel Friedrich joined Mumbai last month.
