Darlington given takeover deadline

Darlington administrators give bidders until midday to make an offer on the Conference club.

Administrators for Darlington have given potential bidders until midday to come up with an offer for the struggling club.

The Conference side are in desperate need of a takeover in order to prevent the club from going bust and now it seems that there is a race against the clock for new buyers to lodge a bid.

It emerged yesterday that manager Craig Liddle and the club's players were made redundant.

Darlington have gone into administration three times since the club launched 128 years ago.
