Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew: 'I respect the fans that want me out'

Alan Pardew insists that he "respects" the supporters' view that he should be sacked as Newcastle United manager.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that he "respects" the views of the disgruntled supporters who are calling for him to be sacked.

Pressure on the 53-year-old's shoulders intensified last night following a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

The Magpies have now gone six games without a win in the Premier League, and Pardew is adamant that he won't walk away from the club unless he is sacked.

"It's tough where we are at the moment," the Sunderland Echo quotes Pardew as saying. "The fans are giving their honest opinion of what they believe. I looked at them at the end, and clapped them at the end to show them I respect their views.

"There's a big question mark over me at this football club, and the only way I can answer it is to do the job to the best of my ability, and try and come up with the answers."

Pardew signed an eight-year contract back in 2012.
