Newcastle United trio Tim Krul, Papiss Cisse and Yoan Gouffran are all out of their side's Capital One Cup clash with Crystal Palace with a sickness bug.

Newcastle United will be without Tim Krul, Papiss Cisse and Yoan Gouffran for their Capital One Cup clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Krul and Gouffran have featured in every game this season for the Magpies, while Cisse came off the bench last week to rescue a point for the Magpies with a brace in their 2-2 draw with Hull City.

However, the trio have been struck down with a sickness bug and will now be unable to feature at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle have failed to progress beyond round four of the League Cup in the past seven years.
