A knee injury could reportedly keep Ron Vlaar out of Holland's World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal could reportedly have to make do without Ron Vlaar during tomorrow's World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

The Aston Villa centre-back picked up a knee injury during the penalties victory over Costa Rica last time out.

It had been hoped that he would be passed fit for the encounter with the Argentines, but he has barely trained and is now a major doubt to feature, according to the Express & Star.

If Vlaar is not risked, it is expected that either Feyenoord's Daryl Janmaat or Wolfsburg's Paul Verhaegh will deputise in his place.
