Ian Holloway pleased with Millwall defending at Derby County

Millwall boss Ian Holloway praises his defence after they keep a clean sheet against Derby County at the iPro Stadium.

Millwall manager Ian Holloway has praised his defenders for keeping a clean sheet against promotion-chasing Derby County.

The Lions produced a resolute defensive display at the iPro Stadium on Saturday to secure a goalless draw with Steve McClaren's side.

Holloway had made a host of changes to his back four, with Byron Webster and Matthew Briggs being recalled and Alan Dunne moving to right-back in the absence of Carlos Edwards.

"I was delighted with our back four," Holloway told News Shopper.

"Byron Webster showed all sorts of character because I brought him off when we two down after 12 minutes at Reading and didn't deserve that. I brought him off because we needed it tactically.

"He took it like a man and I thought he was absolutely fantastic today. Obviously we've got a problem. We've lost our right-back who is like a Rolls-Royce which is Carlos Edwards, so I've had to ask Alan Dunne to go back to right-back."

Holloway's men are 16th in the Championship following the result.
