Ian Holloway hails Millwall spirit in dramatic Sheffield Wednesday draw

Ian Holloway insists that Millwall deserved their late point against Sheffield Wednesday due to the spirit shown by his players at Hillsborough.

Millwall manager Ian Holloway has praised the spirit shown by his side to rescue a late point against Sheffield Wednesday tonight.

The Lions were staring their first defeat of the season in the face until Magaye Gueye struck in the fifth minute of added-on time to secure a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

"From a coach's point of view, what a fantastic goal we scored," Holloway told reporters following the Championship clash. "It was a great finish and was what we deserved. The players are starting to believe that we're a decent team.

"I'm delighted with the spirit. I'm trying to utilise my squad and all the subs played their part. It was two good teams and a fair point."

Millwall, who are currently third in the league table, return to action next weekend when they host Rotherham United.
