Manchester United believe that they will complete a deal for Southampton defender Luke Shaw, according to reports.

Manchester United are reportedly confident that they will win the race to sign highly-rated Southampton full-back Luke Shaw this summer.

The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with many of the Premier League's top clubs in recent months, with the defender also in contention for a place in England's World Cup squad.

However, the Daily Mail claims that the Red Devils believe that they will be able to persuade Shaw to become one of their first recruits in what should a significant overhaul of the United first team.

David Moyes's rebuilding of the squad may also include moves for Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan, while the likes of Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand could lead the Old Trafford clearout.
