Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return to Manchester United when his contract with Los Angeles Galaxy expires, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the club as the experienced striker prepares to leave Los Angeles Galaxy.

The 38-year-old scored 29 times in 53 appearances for United between 2016 and 2018 before leaving European football behind to continue his career in the MLS.

Ibrahimovic will see his current deal with the Galaxy expire at the end of this year, though, and a number of clubs have been linked with a swoop.

There is believed to be a host of interest from Italy, with AC Milan and Bologna just two of the sides said to be considering a move for the Swede.

However, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, United are very much in the hunt for the forward, who could potentially arrive on a contract until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have both been in good form in recent weeks, but the summer departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have left the Red Devils short in the final third.

Ibrahimovic has scored 53 times in 58 outings for his current club in all competitions, while the attacker has won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France during a glittering career.
