Manchester United reportedly deny that they have made a bid for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.

Manchester United have reportedly denied that they have made an offer for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.

Reports emerged overnight claiming that the North-West outfit were considering launching a club-record £37m bid for the Spaniard.

While the Premier League champions are said to be desperate to bring new signings into the club, United have denied lodging an offer for the Chelsea outcast, according to BBC Sport.

Mata has failed to clinch a regular spot in the first team under manager Jose Mourinho, with some reports claiming that the midfielder is unhappy with his current role at Stamford Bridge.
