Lazio president Claudio Lotito rubbishes Robin van Persie speculation

Lazio president Claudio Lotito brands speculation linking the club with a move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie as "rubbish".

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has rubbished speculation linking the club with a move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Recent reports have suggested that the Italians are lining up a summer move for the Dutchman, who is thought to be keen on leaving Old Trafford.

However, Lotito has made it emphatically clear that Lazio are not interested in bringing Van Persie to Rome.

"Van Persie? Haven't you figured this out yet?" he is quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport. "It's all rubbish! Total bull!"

Van Persie scored 10 goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United during the 2014-15 campaign.
