Mario Gotze is open to a switch away from Germany after admitting that a move abroad "might be tempting".

Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has admitted that a move away from Germany "might be tempting".

The 22-year-old has remained in his home country throughout his career, but the World Cup winner concedes that a move to Manchester United could be too great a draw.

Gotze told German newspaper Bild: "I am very happy to play for Bayern and Germany... but I could play for another 14 years and going abroad would be nice.

"A new country might be tempting for someone with my personality, but I have not seen much yet."

Gotze began his senior career at Borussia Dortmund before moving to rivals Bayern Munich last year.

Xavi prepares to take a corner for Barcelona against Sevilla on September 14, 2013.
