Lee Clark: 'I want to extend Jesse Lingard loan'

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark admits that he is keen to extend Jesse Lingard's loan spell from Manchester United.

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has indicated that he is hopeful of extending striker Jesse Lingard's loan spell at St Andrew's.

Lingard is currently on a month's loan from Manchester United, but after the 20-year-old netted five times in three appearances, Clark is hopeful that the England Under-21 international will be allowed to remain with the Championship outfit until January.

The 40-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "We have got him for a month initially. They want to then review it, see how things are going and how Jesse is getting on. I hope that they see that Jesse is enjoying his football.

"What happened last time when he went out to Leicester, he didn't start any games and he became a bit frustrated, and they didn't want another scenario like that.

"I am hoping that David is seeing that he is enjoying his football, he's doing lots of good things and that we are being good to him."

Lingard has yet to make a senior appearance for Manchester United.
