Sam Allardyce 'won't wait forever for Darren Fletcher to make up his mind'

Sam Allardyce suggests that he won't "wait forever" for Darren Fletcher to make up his mind regarding his Manchester United future.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has suggested that he will not "wait forever" for Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher to make a decision regarding his future.

The Scotland international has been linked to the Hammers, as well as West Bromwich Albion and Spanish side Valencia.

United manager Louis van Gaal suggested yesterday that the midfielder, who comes to the end of his contract in the summer, could leave the club this month.

"He has got quite a few clubs interested in him so when he makes his mind up everyone will know," Allardyce told reporters.

"I don't know what the timeline is going to be but for me if any of the other packages [we have] offered that are accepted then we will accept that.

"If someone accepts [an offer] and say the other one, if they haven't made their mind up or they are negotiating somewhere else, then that would be it because we couldn't wait forever."

Fletcher has spent almost 20 years at Old Trafford.
