Report: Manchester United consider sacking manager David Moyes

Reports emerge claiming that Manchester United's owners are planning crisis talks to discuss the future of manager David Moyes.

Manchester United's owners are reportedly prepared to discuss the option of sacking manager David Moyes following last night's defeat to Olympiacos in the Champions League.

The North-West outfit lost to Greek opposition for the first time when they stumbled to a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie against Olympiacos on Tuesday evening.

It has now been reported by Caughtoffside.com that the Glazer family are planning to hold crisis talks with the club's directors, which are expected to include discussions about possible short-term replacements.

United, who have suffered six defeats in 2014, are already out of the domestic cups and currently reside sixth in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.

Reports have claimed that United's hierarchy could call on former manager Sir Alex Ferguson to see out the rest of the campaign, or choose Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs to steady the ship until a permanent manager is installed.
