Dwight Yorke: 'Manchester United need to sign three players this summer'

Former striker Dwight Yorke says that Manchester United need to sign "two or three players" in the summer in order to challenge for the Premier League title.

Former striker Dwight Yorke has said that Manchester United need to sign "two or three players" in the summer.

United slipped to their third successive Premier League defeat on Saturday after Jonas Olsson's goal gave West Bromwich Albion victory at Old Trafford.

"It will take a few million, that's for sure," Yorke told Sky Sports News. "Can you put a price tag on how much money they're going to spend to make the team better? They've spent £150million, and has the team improved? Slightly, yes.

"I would think that he definitely needs to bring in two or three players, and I'm sure he knows the type of players.

"Not necessarily [another striker]. When you look at the quality of players they have going forward, that is the frustrating aspect of it, that we see all these talented players not being able to score goals on a regular basis. Not being able to create enough the Man Utd way going forward."

Yorke made 96 appearances for Manchester United between 1998 and 2002.
