Louis van Gaal: "Next year we will fight for more"

Louis van Gaal admits to being "satisfied" with Manchester United's current fourth-placed position in the league table, despite missing the chance to move above Arsenal.

Louis van Gaal has promised Manchester United supporters that there is more to come from his side next season.

The Red Devils are likely to finish in fourth place in the Premier League table following a 1-1 draw against Arsenal - leaving them trailing their rivals by two points.

United will have to navigate their way past a potentially tricky qualifying tie to book their place in the Champions League should they fail to topple the Gunners in the final week of the season, which Van Gaal admits will be far from an easy task.

"We have not yet qualified for the Champions League," the Dutchman is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "It is always stressful as you can meet opponent who is halfway through a season already.

"It is not so easy. I am satisfied we have set our goal and reached that. From what I have seen of the fans they are pleased, but I want more as manager. Next year we will fight for more."

The Red Devils round off their season with a trip to take on strugglers Hull City.
