Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly told teammates that he would have pushed for a loan exit this month had Jose Mourinho not left the club.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was reportedly planning to demand an exit from the club during the January transfer window had Jose Mourinho remained in charge.

Pogba endured a tempestuous relationship with Mourinho and was even dropped from the team towards the end of the Portuguese manager's reign.

However, the 25-year-old has been in fine form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival, scoring six goals and creating four more in eight games under the Norwegian compared to five goals and four assists in 20 under Mourinho.

talkSPORT reports that the change in manager has resulted in Pogba tabling his plans to leave the club, having previously told teammates that he would have departed on loan this month had Mourinho remained at the helm.

The France international was also understood to have been willing to push for a permanent exit from the club either in January or this summer had a loan deal not been available.

Mourinho left United in December, since when the club have won eight times and drawn once in nine games under interim boss Solskjaer.
