Paul Pogba: 'Zlatan Ibrahimovic still a big leader at Manchester United'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reveals that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still an influential figure around the club, despite being released earlier this summer.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still an influential figure around the club, despite no longer being registered as a United player.

Ibrahimovic was released by the Red Devils earlier this summer after picking up a serious knee ligament injury in April which is expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of 2017.

However, the 35-year-old is undergoing his rehabilitation with the United team and Pogba is continuing to learn from his leadership even when he is unable to play.

"Obviously Zlatan is a leader, always a big leader. And he's still a big leader because he's still in the team, even when he's not playing he's a leader outside of the pitch," he told reporters.

"I've been playing for one season, I came here to hopefully be a leader as well in the team. That's not like the objective, but that's how you should be.

"I've been here, we won and we want to grow up as a player and a leader as well. I can learn from him, from Carras (Michael Carrick), from all the players and become a leader."

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals for United across all competitions before his season came to a premature end.
