Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirms that Phil Jones will miss "a few weeks" with ankle ligament damage picked up in Sunday's win at Arsenal.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Phil Jones will miss "a few weeks" after he damaged his ankle during Sunday's 2-1 win at Arsenal.

The defender was stretchered off in the first 10 minutes after he slipped awkwardly at the Emirates Stadium.

"It's not good news for us," said Ferguson. "I think Jones will be out for a few weeks - it's ankle ligaments."

Sunday's win has kept United three points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.
