Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says that there is "plenty of time" to sign a new contract at Old Trafford, despite reports suggesting an imminent announcement.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has suggested that he will eventually sign a new contract at Old Trafford.

Reports have suggested that United are close to announcing that Mourinho has agreed to extend his stay at the North-West giants, with his existing deal having just 18 months to run.

However, while revealing that he is happy with life at United, Mourinho has insisted that there is no rush to pen fresh terms at the club.

At a press conference, the 54-year-old said: "My contract ends July 2019, so plenty of time to speak. I know that the club is happy and the owners, the board are happy.

"They know I'm happy and when that's the case, when one day we decide to do something, we'll do it easily, but plenty of time."

During his first 18 months at United, Mourinho has won 60 and lost just 15 of his 98 matches in charge, with the club winning the EFL Cup and Europa League last season.
