Jose Mourinho: 'Sir Alex Ferguson impossible to emulate'

The reigns of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger will never be emulated in the modern game, according to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho has described the reigns of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger as 'impossible' to emulate.

The Chelsea manager is enjoying his second spell at the club, having been crowned Premier League champions last weekend with three games left.

The Blues face Liverpool this afternoon at Stamford Bridge, and prior to the match, Mourinho was asked whether he could be in charge for as long as Ferguson at Manchester United or Wenger with Arsenal.

"No, because it is impossible in football. Modern football, impossible," Mourinho said, reports The Telegraph.

"I developed the team [last time he was manager] and after three years someone else come – in this case, it was not somebody else. It was one [manager], and one, and another one, another one, another one. How many? Four, or five, or six? They have my team."

The 52-year-old is expected to sign a new four-year contract in the summer.
