Roberto Martinez: 'Manchester United will bounce back next term'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez says that Manchester United will overcome their troubles and challenge for the Premier League next season.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is convinced that Manchester United will overcome their troubles and challenge for the Premier League next season.

United have endured a dismal defence of their crown this term under manager David Moyes, with the club set to miss out on Champions League football.

With the Red Devils languishing in seventh, Moyes's men are also poised for their lowest league finish in 23 years, but the Spaniard believes that the English giants will be back contesting the top honours for the 2014-15 campaign.

"Their next few games, I'm sure they're going to fight for a European place and to finish as high as they can," he told Sky Sports News.

"Even at this stage, they should be fighting for fourth place. It's ingrained in the DNA of Manchester United.

"It's not in doubt that they will be doing that and they will be challenging for the title again next season."

The Toffees host United at Goodison Park on Sunday, kickoff for which is scheduled for 4pm.
