Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia are injury doubts for Saturday's meeting with Swansea City after missing Manchester United's final pre-season friendly.

Louis van Gaal has revealed that Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia could miss the start of the new Premier League season through injury.

The trio were left out of United's squad for tonight's 2-1 victory against Valencia at Old Trafford, and Van Gaal confirmed after the match that a decision over their inclusion for Saturday's visit of Swansea City will be made at a later time.

"We have to wait to see if they can play on Saturday," the former Netherlands coach told reporters.

Of the match, which saw Marouane Fellaini come off the bench to score a late winner, Van Gaal added: "The main thing is we won, despite playing our worst game [so far in pre-season]."

The win ensures that the Red Devils remain unbeaten under their new manager this summer.
