Louis van Gaal questions Manchester United's "will to win" after Arsenal defeat

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal questions his side's "will to win" following their humbling 3-0 defeat away at Arsenal in the Premier League.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has criticised his team's "will to win" following their 3-0 defeat away at Arsenal.

The Gunners won the game in the first 20 minutes with three quick goals courtesy of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and Van Gaal has responded by questioning his side's desire in the early period of the Premier League contest.

"It was a very bad start, without aggression and the will to win," said Van Gaal, according to BBC Sport.

"That is the first time I have seen that from my team. I did not expect that. We have won our last four matches - I gave the players a day off because they were tired.

"On Saturday the training was normal, I was very amazed to see that. All teams will have a dip."

The win moves Arsenal into second place in the league standings after eight games this term.
