Harry Kane: 'We can beat Manchester United'

Tottenham striker Harry Kane insists that his side have the confidence to beat an in-form Manchester United side at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has insisted that his side have the belief to beat Manchester United when the two sides meet in the early kickoff on Sunday.

Spurs have often struggled in games against top-four teams in recent years, and come up against a United side that has won seven of their last eight matches to move up to third in the Premier League table.

However, Tottenham are in good form themselves, having won four games on the bounce in all competitions, and Kane believes that they have lost the fear factor they used to have against the big boys.

"Mentally we were beaten before we stepped out on the pitch because we were up against a bigger-named team. That isn't the case any more," Kane told reporters. "We need to go into these games believing we can win. We haven't done it in the past few years. But that is something that has got to change.

"We have to change and believe we have got the ability to win these games. Players mentally have experienced losing and don't want it to happen again against these big teams. We're confident at the moment. We're winning games so why not.

"These are going to be tough games but we're ready for it and going for three points. The manager has built confidence and belief. The lads have taken to it great and there are no better than the big games at home."

Kane scored for the fourth game in a row during the 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day, bringing his tally to 14 in all competitions for Spurs this season.
