Ander Herrera targets long-term Manchester United future

Ander Herrera says that he expects to stay at Manchester United for "the next five years" after winning back his place in the side.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has said that he expects to stay at the club for the next five years.

The 25-year-old endured a mixed start to his United career following his summer move from Athletic Bilbao, but he has become a key player for Louis van Gaal and has started in the club's last seven games.

"I am at Manchester United, the second richest club in the world, who are in a constant search for talent," Herrera told El Pais.

"And everything takes time because everyone will have their early difficult moments, but now I am playing again.

"However, when I was not playing I kept reminding myself that I am here for the next five years and not just for a few months."

Herrera has scored five goals for United this season.
