Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez believes that teammate Robin van Persie will help him become a better player in front of goal this season.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez believes that his new teammate Robin van Persie will be able to help the Mexico international improve at Old Trafford.

The former Arsenal hitman opened his United scoring account in the Red Devils' 3-2 win over Fulham on Saturday.

"I think in life you never stop learning, no matter what age you are," Hernandez told the club's official website. "I try to learn from all my teammates, but obviously it's great to watch the other strikers in particular.

"They have all helped me a lot and I know I will learn a lot off Robin because he is a world-class striker who has a lot to give to the team and a lot to teach us all."

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Hernandez's fellow forward Wayne Rooney could be out of contention for two months after picking up a thigh injury at the weekend.
