Gennaro Gattuso wants Manchester United job

Former Italian World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso, who currently manages Italian side Pisa, reveals that his dream is to take charge of Manchester United.

Former Italian World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso has revealed that he would 'walk to Old Trafford' if he was ever given the chance to discuss taking charge of Manchester United.

The 38-year-old, who represented AC Milan between 1999 and 2012, is currently in charge of Italian minnows Pisa.

Gattuso has set his sights high, however, after revealing the affection that he holds for the English game.

"I'd walk there. I'd even go tomorrow. Sir Alex Ferguson has always respected me - and I have always admired the Premier League which, for me, is the best league in the world," Gattuso told The Sun.

"In Italy, we are tactical masters, but in England you see pacey players - with great strength in their legs. I love watching the Championship, because in those games, I see true love that people in England have for football. They breathe football. I record two Championship matches a night.

"In Italy, some teams can relax during games. In England, with every action of a team, there is a corresponding action from the opposition."

Man United's current boss Louis van Gaal continues to come under increasing pressure following a disappointing season to date.
