The FA id to review its policy on England players' free time after reportedly feeling disappointed in Wayne Rooney's late-night drinking antics.

The Football Association is reportedly disappointed in Wayne Rooney's late-night antics after the England captain allegedly went drinking in the team hotel following the World Cup qualifying win over Scotland.

The 31-year-old, who is skipper for both his country and Manchester United, is believed to have spent Saturday evening drinking with hotel guests and Phil Jagielka the night following England's 3-0 triumph over Scotland.

A picture of Rooney looking bleary eyed was published by the press, and United manager Jose Mourinho is understood to be furious with the FA after learning that members of the England backroom staff were present at the time of the partying.

On Wednesday evening, an FA spokesperson said: "All England personnel have a responsibility to behave appropriately at all times. We will be reviewing our policy around free time whilst on international duty."

Rooney has apologised to England interim manager Gareth Southgate and FA technical director Dan Ashworth.
