Jonny Evans defends Manchester United's performances this season after critics claim that it has not been a vintage year for the Red Devils.

Jonny Evans has dismissed claims that Manchester Unired have not played attractive football this season.

Despite being top of the Premier League table, the Red Devils have been accused of not matching the playing style of neighbours Manchester City.

However, Evans believes that the side has been "outstanding" during the current campaign.

"People keep saying it is a great achievement for this team, but if you look at our record, it speaks for itself," the Northern Ireland international told the club's official website.

"People say we have not been playing well but some of the football we have played at home has been outstanding.

"You can't always play well away from home but we have gone away and ground out results."

United continue their search for a 20th league title on Sunday when they host Everton at Old Trafford.
