Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick fit to face Everton

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney and midfielder Michael Carrick are both fit to face Everton in the Premier League.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are both fit enough to be included in his matchday squad for Manchester United's match against Everton.

The duo both missed out for England during the international break through injury, casting doubt over their availability for tomorrow's match at Goodison Park.

Ahead of his pre-match press conference, the manager told the club's TV channel that both players will be available for the match after recovering from their knocks.

However, Paddy McNair will miss out after sustaining an injury while away with Northern Ireland, while Ashley Young is also ruled out through injury.
