"Becoming a Barcelona player is not straightforward," Valverde told reporters. "He is focused and good. The TV chef told talkSPORT: "I think we have a really good spirit in the football club. A 'oneness' of all of us being together, and that has come about with the supporters. It is just wonderful, the supporters are loving it. It says a lot about football. That is why we love it because none of us ever really know what is going to happen. We are totally overwhelmed. We could barely move on Sunday we were so tired."

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has praised Liverpool's Roberto Firmino for his "frightening pace" and compared his quality to that of old Manchester United teammate Eric Cantona. Speaking to reporters after the Magpies lost 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday, Bruce said: "Cantona is as good a player as I've ever seen. I haven't seen Firmino week in week out like that, but just when you see him here and what he gives them, it's a perfect balance. And Cantona gave us that. Back in the day, we had Giggs and Kanchelskis who had frightening pace and stretched sides so much like Liverpool's two, and Cantona dropped into that hole and people couldn't get anywhere near them. That's what you see with Firmino."
