Manchester United to host Reading in FA Cup third round

Manchester United are drawn at home to Reading in the third round of the FA Cup, former Red Devils star Jaap Stam heading back to Old Trafford as Royals manager.

Manchester United have been drawn at home to Reading in the third round of the FA Cup, while Arsenal will travel to Championship Preston North End.

Royals manager Jaap Stam played for the Red Devils between 1998 and 2001, winning the treble with Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger's charges head to Deepdale in a clash of the two Invincibles - the only two clubs in English top-flight history to go a whole league season unbeaten.

West Ham United will host Manchester City in the pick of the all-Premier League ties, with Everton set to welcome Premier League champions Leicester City.

Chelsea and Liverpool will play lower-league sides, with the Blues hosting Peterborough United or Notts County, and the Reds travelling to League Two Newport County or Plymouth Argyle.

The 32 third-round ties will be played across the weekend of 6-9 January 2017.
