Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United will be looking to book their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The two teams played out a goalless draw at Molineux on January 4, meaning that a replay is required to determine which side progresses to the next round to face either Watford or Tranmere Rovers.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will enter the contest off the back of an impressive 4-0 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Eric Bailly

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Eric Bailly made his comeback from a knee operation for United's Under-23 side on Friday night. The Ivorian is not yet ready for a first-team return, though, and will therefore be unavailable for this match.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: February 17 (vs. Chelsea)

Paul Pogba has undergone ankle surgery and is expected to be on the sidelines for the next month. As a result, the France international, who continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, might not be available for selection until the clash with Premier League clash with Chelsea on February 17.

Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay has been on the sidelines since picking up a knee injury against Newcastle United on Boxing Day. The Scotland international was recently ruled out for "a few months" by Solskjaer, suggesting that he might not be ready to return until March.

Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe has been out with a hamstring problem since the middle of December but is thought to be making good progress in his recovery and could yet be involved against Wolves.

Like Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah made his comeback from a serious knee injury for the club's Under-23 side on Friday night. The Dutchman has not turned out for the club's first team since 2017, though, and will not be considered for the FA Cup clash with Wolves.

Marcos Rojo

Possible return date: January 15 (vs. Wolves)

Marcos Rojo has been restricted to just nine appearances this season due to a muscular problem. The Argentine has not been involved in the Premier League since November 10, meanwhile, and he remains a major doubt for this match despite not officially being ruled out.
