Manchester City midfielder Luke Brattan loaned to Bolton Wanderers

Former Brisbane Roar midfielder Luke Brattan joins Bolton Wanderers on loan, after agreeing to sign for Manchester City on a permanent basis.

Bolton Wanderers have completed the loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Luke Brattan on a short-term deal.

The 25-year-old, who has spent the last five seasons with Brisbane Roar in the A-League, will link up with Wanderers until January 3.

City have yet to themselves confirm the arrival of Brattan, who has been heavily linked with a switch in the past, although Bolton have revealed that terms have been agreed.

Hull-born Brattan was named in the PFA A-League Team of the Season in 2013-14, but he has now opted to sever his ties with Roar and join the Citizens, via a spell at the Macron Stadium.

Speaking to Fox Sports about his move to the Premier League leaders, he said: "It's amazing. I never thought say five years ago that I'd be in the spot that I'm in now. I'm grateful for it and I won't take anything for granted."

Brattan has yet to be capped at international level by Australia, but was called up for a recent World Cup qualifier as a replacement for skipper Mile Jedinak.
