Daniele De Rossi dismisses speculation linking him with Manchester City by revealing that he will be staying with Roma.

Reported Manchester City transfer target Daniele De Rossi has insisted that he will be staying with Roma.

It had been claimed that Premier League champions City had made contact with the Italian club regarding the availability of their holding midfielder last week.

However, the 29-year-old has taken the decision out of the club's hands by revealing that he is keen to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.

"I'm staying," De Rossi told a press conference. "I never asked to leave.

"What I can promise everyone is that the day I want to leave Roma, whether to win Champions League or to make more money, I will say so in public.

"One club, the one you all know, made an enquiry. One or two others, but that was just talk."

De Rossi signed professional forms with Roma in 2001.
