Atletico Madrid will reportedly react to the expected departure of Diego Costa by bidding for Alvaro Negredo.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly added Alvaro Negredo to their list of targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite winning La Liga and reaching the Champions League final, Atletico are expected to allow striker Diego Costa to join Chelsea this summer.

According to The Mirror, Diego Simeone's side will attempt to fill the void left by the Brazilian by launching a bid for Manchester City's Negredo.

The Spanish forward joined City from Sevilla last summer, and enjoyed a successful start to life in the Premier League before struggling to regain top form in the closing stages of the season.

Any possible move could depend on whether Manuel Pellegrini believes that he has enough attacking options with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic.
