Player Ratings: Manchester City 5-1 Bournemouth

strong>Sports Mole rates the individual performances from Manchester City's 5-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick and Wilfried Bony added two goals as Manchester City secured a 5-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini's side opened up a 2-0 lead with just over 10 minutes gone, and were 4-1 up by the break as they cruised to victory.

Glenn Murray netted the only goal of the game for Eddie Howe's side, but the visitors' defence struggled to halt the City attack.

Here, Sports Mole rates the individual performances of the players involved.

Goal

Joe Hart: The keeper had just one shot on target to deal with, which he was unable to save, but he did claim a few crosses and make some clearances. (6/10)

Defence

Bacary Sagna: Sagna provided the cross that resulted in Bony's first goal and put in a solid performance at the back. (7/10)

Pablo Zabaleta: The Argentine was as dependable as ever at the back and showed plenty of intent getting forward, creating more than a few problems for the Bournemouth defence. (8/10)

Eliaquim Mangala: Mangala was one of the busiest defenders, mainly marking Glenn Murray, but he made several crucial clearances to help protect Hart. (7/10)

Nicolas Otamendi: Otamendi made a vital challenge early on to stop the visitors getting a shot away in the opening couple of minutes, but he continued to give away free kicks after being booked in the first half. (6/10)

Midfield

Raheem Sterling: Sterling was involved in everything, scoring three goals, taking on several more shots, providing crosses, making runs forward and even making a couple of blocks at the back. (9/10)

Jesus Navas: Although he was unable to get on the scoresheet himself, Navas work tirelessly to set up a number of chances, including Sterling's third. (8/10)

Kevin de Bruyne: De Bruyne formed a dangerous partnership with Sterling on the left, and was unlucky not to have a goal himself, with Federici tipping hit strike onto the crossbar. (8/10)

Fernandinho: Fernandinho was one of the quietest players on the pitch for the home side, but he helped win possession back several times in a central midfield role. (6/10)

Yaya Toure: It looked like Toure made his return from injury a little too soon, having a limited impact in the first half before being replaced at half time. (4/10)

Attack

Wilfried Bony: Faced with the daunting task of filling in for Sergio Aguero, Bony stepped up, firing in two well-taken goals while also working for his teammates. (8/10)

Substitutes

Fernando: Fernando played the whole of the second half after replacing Yaya Toure at half time, and he helped keep the ball moving in midfield. (6/10)

Samir Nasri: Coming on for De Bruyne with almost half an hour to go, Nasri sent in a couple if decent crosses, but appeared to aggravate his hamstring, restricting him for the final 10 minutes. (6/10)

Kelechi Iheanacho: The young striker only came on with 12 minutes to go, but certainly made an impact, and was unlucky not to get a goal late on, when he was wrongly flagged offside. (7/10)

Goal

Adam Federici: It was a difficult task for Federici, who was only named in the starting lineup a couple of minutes before kickoff after Artur Boruc suffered on injury while warming up, but the keeper made a couple of howlers, both of which cost his side a goal. (3/10)

Defence

Simon Francis: The left-back looked lively going forward and bringing the ball out from the back, but was unable to cope with the pace of Sterling and De Bruyne at the back. (5/10)

Steve Cook: Cook also struggled to contain the Manchester City attack, giving Bony far too much room as the striker fired in the home side's fifth goal. (4/10)

Charlie Daniels: Like Francis, Daniels looked better going forward than he did defending, as the centre-back regularly left the struggling Federici exposed. (4/10)

Sylvain Distin: The veteran Frenchman was the pick of the back four, managing to slow Sterling a little at the start of the second half. (6/10)

Midfield

Dan Gosling: Gosling was lively in the opening couple of minutes, almost breaking through on goal less than three minutes into the match, but he tired in the second half. (6/10)

Andrew Surman: Surman put in a strong performance, delivering several decent crosses and through-balls, but he was too reliant on Murray being open. (7/10)

Adam Smith: Smith showed some promise going forward, but regularly found himself dropping back to try to help out the defence. (6/10)

Matt Ritchie: Ritchie came close with a header in the first half, but was not at his best on corner duty, failing to pick out his teammates from the set pieces. (5/10)

Attack

Glenn Murray: Murray took the shot well to score the only goal of the match for Bournemouth, but was regular too closely marked to have as much of an impact as he would have liked. (7/10)

Eunan O'Kane: Mainly working to set up Murray rather than take on the goal himself, O'Kane looked sharp on his return to the starting lineup, linking up well with Surman. (7/10)

Substitutes

Marc Pugh: Despite not training after picking up a knock, Pugh help strengthen the defence in the final stages of the match, making a couple of blocks. (6/10)

Josh King: Taking over from Murray with 15 minutes to go, King came close to adding a second, hesitating a fraction too long with only Hart to beat. (7/10)

Shaun MacDonald: MacDonald played the final 25 minutes in place of O'Kane, but had little impact, unable to match the intensity that O'Kane showed in the first half. (5/10)
