Mark Hughes slams Mancini's management

Mark Hughes criticises the management style of his Manchester City successor Roberto Mancini, labelling the Italian "autocratic".

Former Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has criticised the "autocratic" style of his successor Roberto Mancini.

Hughes said that this style would inevitably lead to disagreements and altercations with players as the Italian doesn't "indulge" them enough.

"I don't know the guy personally, but looking at him from the outside, he comes across as autocratic," he said. "It's either his way or the highway."

"I'm not sure he indulges players, tries to get to know or understand them. I'm not sure he's that type of manager."

Speaking of Mancini's recent fallout with Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez, Hughes added: "I never saw [Tevez] volatile. I cannot think of an incident with Carlos.

"It would never have happened under my watch."

Hughes was sacked by City in December 2009 and went on to manage Fulham for a season last year before resigning "to move on and further [his] experiences".
