Capello: 'I know what Roberto Mancini is going through'

England manager Fabio Capello sympathises with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini over Carlos Tevez.

Fabio Capello has admitted that he once had to go through a similar scenario as Roberto Mancini did in Munich on Tuesday night.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez refused to come on as a second-half substitute in the Champions League game, which City eventually lost 2-0.

England manager Capello revealed that he was faced with the same situation but refused to name the player or the team he managed at the time.

"Look. About Tevez. The same thing happened to me once," he said. "The players think a lot about themselves. Not about the team. The manager has to think about the team. We need to choose the best team to win every game.

"But sometimes the players do not understand the manager's decision."

Tevez has been suspended and fined by the club following the incident and now looks set to leave Eastlands.
