Manchester City have no say in Vincent Kompany's availability for Belgium

Manchester City will have no say in whether Vincent Kompany plays in Belgium's Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel tomorrow, despite the defender struggling with injury.

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots has claimed that Manchester City will not have a say in whether Vincent Kompany plays in tomorrow's Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel.

The centre-back has been unavailable for City in their last five games due to a calf injury.

Kompany was included in the Belgium squad for the international break but City manager Manuel Pellegrini claimed that he will not feature in either game.

The defender was absent from Saturday's 4-1 victory over Andorra, but Wilmots has refused to rule Kompany out of tomorrow's final qualifier.

"I think he's good right now," Sky Sports News quotes Wilmots as saying. "We will decide together if he can play, but I think it will be alright. I don't see any problem if he feels okay.

"There's been no contact with Manchester City. They know anyway all about the team here and what I do with Belgium. I select the players, and from the beginning this player said the second game will be alright."

Meanwhile, City are expected to be without Sergio Aguero for a month after he suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Argentina.
