Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's clash with Aston Villa.

Manchester City continue their pursuit of Premier League leaders Liverpool with a game against Aston Villa at the Etihad on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola's men have responded in strong fashion since losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers prior to the international break, winning 2-0 at Crystal Palace ahead of recording a 5-1 win over Atalanta in the Champions League.

The Citizens will be desperate to avoid slipping up at home against a Villa side that gave Arsenal quite a scare at the Emirates last month.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

The German suffered severe knee ligament damage back in August but is set for a return earlier than initially expected, with medical staff pinpointing the January meeting with Crystal Palace as a date when he could feature under Guardiola once again.

The defender picked up a similar injury to Sane prior to the September international break, depriving Guardiola of one of his key players, and is not expected for a return until the New Year.

City's record signing picked up an injury while playing in central defence against Atalanta, with Guardiola confirming after the game that he will be out for a minimum of 10 days, possibly stretching to three weeks.

Zinchenko missed the win over Atalanta having sustained a knee injury prior to the game, paving the way for Benjamin Mendy to feature instead. The defender will undergo tests this week to determine the extent of the problem.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns ahead of the Champions League clash.
