The Ivorian giant made no mistake from close range after finding himself unmarked in the penalty area when a corner took a flick off Carlos Tevez.

City nearly made it two on the half-hour mark when David Silva broke clear, but his shot was parried by Robert Green.

QPR came closest when a Jack Rodwell clearance in midfield nearly created a bizarre own goal, with Joe Hart forced into the save from distance.
