Stoke reached this tie after being taken to extra time in a replay by Crystal Palace, although they eventually went through 4-1.

City, on the other hand, brushed aside Watford 3-0 at the first time of asking.

For Stoke, Andy Wilkinson is still a doubt so Dean Whitehead could continue to deputise at right-back.

Roberto Mancini's first-choice right-back Aleksandar Kolarov is doubtful with an ankle sprain, while both Kolo Toure and Yaya Toure are on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
