How Manchester City could line up against Swansea City

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final with Swansea City as they continue their quadruple quest.

Manchester City's quadruple quest turns to the FA Cup on Saturday when they take on Championship side Swansea City in the quarter-finals at the Liberty Stadium.

Fresh from dismantling Schalke 04 with the joint biggest-ever win in a single Champions League knockout game, Pep Guardiola's side will be even greater favourites to inflict more damage on the Swans this weekend.

Doing so would seal an FA Cup semi-final spot to go with their EFL Cup, Premier League lead and European progress, bringing the 'impossible' dream of a quadruple one step closer for the English champions.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how City could line up in South Wales.

Guardiola is likely to take Saturday as an opportunity to rest a number of his key players, including the likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte.

Another player who is surely deserving of a rest is the tireless Bernardo Silva, which could open the door for Phil Foden to start again following his goalscoring cameo off the bench in midweek.

Leroy Sane was the star of the show against Schalke with a goal and three assists, and he is the most likely of the front three to play again alongside Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez.

There are certain areas of the field where Guardiola's options are limited by injury, though, and Ilkay Gundogan could retain his place as he continues to cover for Fernandinho.

John Stones was only deemed fit enough for the bench against Schalke but could return to the starting XI for this one alongside Vincent Kompany, who missed out altogether on Wednesday night.

Oleksandr Zinchenko's recent form may also earn him a rest despite Benjamin Mendy's ongoing absence, with Fabian Delph the most likely to fill in at left-back.
