Macclesfield Town have been held to a 1-1 draw by Bolton Wanderers in their pre-season friendly at Moss Rose this evening.

The home side took the lead through Chris Holroyd, who burst through on goal before firing an effort past Ross Fitzsimons.

After the break the visitors came close to levelling the scores when Craig Davies drilled in a low strike, but his attempt was comfortable for the keeper.

As the game entered the final 10 minutes Bolton eqaulised through Zach Clough, who fired home from close range to earn his side a draw.
