Remi Garde laments "stupid goals" against Lyon

Remi Garde says that Lyon are nearing a return to form despite losing at AS Monaco in Ligue 1.

Remi Garde has bemoaned Lyon for conceding "two stupid goals" during their narrow defeat at AS Monaco on Sunday.

Les Gones found themselves trailing at the break and, despite a Bafetimbi Gomis response, slipped to a 2-1 loss at the Stade Louis II at the weekend in Ligue 1.

In spite of his side's poor start to the season, Garde believes that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Lyon.

"I have regrets as we conceded two stupid goals," Garde said in his press conference. "We were timid in the first half and gave them too much respect.

"We got back to 2-1 after a good team move. In open play we weren't in too much trouble.

"I'm realistic when it comes to the potential of this team. I know we need to do better and if we keep the same spirit and play more consistently then we'll get there."

Lyon host Guingamp next weekend.
