Lorient have beaten Caen 2-0 at the Stade du Moustoir thanks to goals from Benjamin Moukandjo and Majeed Waris.

Jordan Adeoti had a shot saved for the visitors within the opening couple of minutes, while Herve Bazile watched a long-range shot fly just over the bar 10 minutes later.

It was the home side who took the lead after 13 minutes, however, when Cameroon international forward Moukandjo scored from close range after a Maxime Barthelme free kick.

Ghana international Waris had a header saved with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, and gave his side a two-goal advantage shortly after when firing the ball beyond Remy Vercoutre following a Didier N'Dong corner.

Caen had a number of chances to get back into the game either side of the break, but Adeoti could only see his attempt saved and Andy Delort fired wide shortly into the second half.

Waris had a chance to score his second of the game with just under 20 minutes remaining but shot wide of the left post, and Rafidine Abdullah had his attempt saved for the home side shortly before the end as Lorient ultimately finished as comfortable winners.
