England striker Daniel Sturridge admits that he felt "sick" after his team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Uruguay in Sao Paulo on Thursday evening.

England striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he felt "sick" and "heartbroken" after his team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Uruguay on Thursday evening.

The Three Lions looked on course for a point against their South American opponents before Luis Suarez struck a late winner, leaving England on the verge of an early exit from the tournament in Brazil.

England can only qualify for the last 16 if they can beat Costa Rica next Tuesday and Italy win their remaining two group matches.
